Paintings | Crackle
When I first encountered crackle medium, I knew it was an effect I wanted to apply to my benevolent, anthropomorphized interactions with animals. My hope was to get the feel of a neglected painting. The kind found in the attic. Time ravaged, cracked, dusty; the flaws adding to the character like wrinkles on a farmer's face who has spent too much time in the sun. My depiction of rats, hares, hedgehogs, mythical beings and whales depicted in this medium reinforce the connection between man and the natural world. I never liked rats until I shared a cup of tea with one.
